Tyler Brown is a legend in the beer industry, the godfather of modern IPA in the Northwest, and one of the best storytellers you'll ever meet. We've been lucky enough to soak up tons of knowledge from Tyler and his crew at Barley Brown's, and there's no doubt that Breakside IPA and Wanderlust exist the way they do today thanks to the influence of Tyler, Eli, Shawn, and Marks. It was a no-brainer to host them as part of our 10th anniversary collaborations and also a no-brainer to make a West Coast IPA with them. When we sat down to make this beer, we asked, 'how would we design a new West Coast IPA in 2020' that captures the direction that WC IPA is heading? The resulting beer is filled with three of the fruitiest hops around, Strata, Mosaic, and Azacca, along with a touch of Simcoe to anchor the beer in classic dank and catty West Coast flavor. The bitterness is modest, the malt bill is extremely lean, and the ABV is moderate. It's a contemporary West Coast IPA for the new decade.⁠

We were thrilled about being approached to brew a beer with some of our favorite Oregon Breweries, Boneyard Beer. It only made sense that we would brew an IPA together, the only question was :to haze or not to haze? We landed on a beautiful and clear west coast IPA. Tenth Life is bursting with aromas of apricot, mango and pine. All of the fruity and floral flavors you’d expect from a classic West Coast IPA are present. Notes of Citrus, melon and cedar contribute to a resinous bitterness that lingers perfectly on the palette.

Our take on this classic German wheat beer, this hefeweizen is unfiltered, with a frothy white head and delicious aroma notes of fresh baked bread, clove, vanilla, and slight banana. This beer is delicious and sessionable served as is, but also can be served with a lemon wedge to add some refreshing citrus notes.

St. Wilbur Weizen is brewed using the recipe of the old Brauerei zum Schiff brewery in Kaufbeuren, Germany, which is located 60 miles southwest of Munich and was established in 1540. Jürgen Knöller, the owner of Bayern Brewing, apprenticed in this brewery from 1978 to 1981 and brought this original recipe to Missoula in 1987.

In 2002, Jürgen decided to rename Bayern’s Hefeweizen “St Wilbur Weizen” after his beloved St. Bernard, Wilbur, who had been adopted from the Humane Society. Sympathetic with the issues of these large breed dogs, Bayern now donates a portion of sales of this beer style and all affiliated merchandise to the Saint Bernard Rescue Foundation.
